Natural building as an art

Free Homes & Earth Station

Art and architecture are inseparable. Throughout history, man has expressed himself through the home he lives in, using the available materials, blending aesthetics into the sensibilities of design. For example, in a carpenter’s house you would find wooden members meticulously carved and the material is explored to enhance its richness. Unfortunately this is now being replaced by mass produced blocks without context, culture or meaning, standardising the housing “industry”, losing the authentic touch of the hand. Machine made is the new trend but, art can never be mass produced, it is an expression of the artist’s inner self, his spirit. This is true for buildings as well, in this case the architect is the artist and his art is the building
